Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Vicksburg, MS is seeking a Laborer to support skilled craft workers on construction sites. The role involves assisting with setup, following directions, and performing physical tasks with safety as the priority.

You will help keep work areas clean, read safety signs, observe equipment hazards, and assist with estimating quantities and materials. Candidates should be able to work in varied weather, climb ladders, and handle tools as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with prior field experience.
• Strong working knowledge for the position.
• Ability to read and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
• Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools, layout tools and measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist craftsmen in setting up work as required.
• Follow instructions given by superintendents, foremen and other experienced crew.
• Perform all duties with safety as the first priority.
• Keep work areas clean and in orderly condition.
• Read and understand warning signs, operating instructions, and safety rules.
• Observe functioning of installed equipment to identify hazards.
• Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities; determine time, costs, resources needed.
• Inspect subordinate's work for compliance and deficiencies.
