Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Project Advisor to help students prepare for high school graduation and pursue postsecondary opportunities. You will coordinate tutoring services, provide college and career advising, monitor academic achievement, and arrange college tours to boost motivation and enrollment.

On-site role with active engagement in program operations, data entry, weekly evaluations, and collaboration with partners.

Qualifications

• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background checks.
• TB clearance within 6 months.
• Ability to work under emotional stress with challenging clients.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, enroll, and advise students at an assigned High School; conduct outreach.
• Provide academic advising, career awareness, and college entrance information.
• Develop curricula and conduct workshops on college and career planning and financial literacy.
• Coordinate and supervise tutoring resources; monitor program activities and performance.
• Prepare intervention plans for students with low academic performance; coordinate college visits.
