Job summary

Software Placement Group is seeking a highly skilled CNC Maintenance Mechanic II for its Portland, CT facility. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machinery and production equipment to ensure reliable operation and quality performance.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, interpreting drawings and manuals, repairing electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, coordinating with vendors, and documenting activities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on CNC troubleshooting experience.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance on manufacturing machinery.
• Ability to read technical drawings, equipment manuals, diagrams, and engineering specifications.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostics.
• Experience coordinating with vendors and service providers.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Good communication with production personnel; safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair CNC machinery and related systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
• Read and interpret equipment diagrams, manuals, and specifications.
• Identify problems using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Dismantle, inspect, and replace defective parts with tools and hoists/cranes.
• Adjust and calibrate components for proper operation.
• Assist with installation and relocation of shop machinery.
• Fabricate repair parts as needed using shop tools.
• Coordinate with vendors for complex repairs and parts.
• Maintain inventories and document maintenance activities.
• Help reduce downtime by sharing maintenance practices with production.
