Job summary

Re:Build Manufacturing is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to be embedded with a harness plant, supporting Cadonix software on-site and across the shop floor. You will work with production, engineering and quality teams to resolve issues quickly and maintain robust integrations with AWS-based tooling.

You will also engage with remote product and development teams, capture improvement requests, and help validate changes on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years’ experience in software development, support or implementation.
• Understanding of production environments and shop-floor workflows.
• Experience engaging directly with customers.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying applications on AWS (e.g. Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, IAM).
• Proficient in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript or C#.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, Windows and Linux environments, and web-based applications and APIs.
• Familiar with Git, CI/CD and infrastructure as code.

Responsibilities

• On-Site Production Support – Triage, diagnose and resolve issues with the software, its configuration, data, integrations and connected shop-floor hardware, prioritizing anything affecting production output.
• Customer Engagement – Collaborates with remote Product, Development and QA teams across time zones and on-site with guidance from a senior engineer.
• Customer Liaison & Change Requests – Capture feature improvements and modifications as clear, prioritized requirements; review with Cadonix teams; support user acceptance testing on-site.
• Cloud Development & Tooling – Develop and maintain AWS scripts, integrations, reports and small tools to facilitate site operations.
• Blocking Issue & Root Cause Analysis – Reproduce defects, track fixes, lead root-cause analysis for recurring problems, verify on-site.
• Training & Documentation – Train operators and support staff; maintain site procedures, runbooks and a knowledge base.
