Job summary

The Clinical Research Assistant at Temple University’s Lewis Katz School of Medicine's Pulmonary/Critical Care/Sleep Medicine Department supports investigators in clinical trials and research tasks. The role provides mentorship under coordinators, managers, and the PI, with exposure to diverse populations and state-of-the-art resources.

This on-site position requires a keen interest in clinical research, strong computer skills, and solid communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Zero to 6 months of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong interest in learning about Clinical Research.

Responsibilities

• Assist with screening, enrollment and tracking patients in clinical trials and other research studies.
• May participate in enrollment of human subjects for clinical trials; obtain informed consent, schedule visits, perform basic clinical assessments and collect study data.
• Perform various research, database and clerical tasks to support clinical trials; organize, gather and compile data.
• Organize and maintain documentation required for clinical trials and research projects.
• Inform PI or designated individuals about issues regarding patient responses to treatment or adverse effects.
• Assist with IRB filings and annual reviews.
• Provide clerical and technical support to ensure adherence to research protocols.
• Adhere to FDA, IRB, Pennsylvania, and other regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned
