Qualifications

• Current CPC certification or equivalent credential.
• Prior medical coding experience required.
• FQHC billing/coding experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS coding.
• Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payer requirements.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, documentation, and coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and assign accurate diagnoses and procedure codes.
• Ensure coding is supported by provider documentation and billing guidelines.
• Review records for coding accuracy and denial resolutions.
• Communicate with providers for documentation and coding clarification.
• Stay current with CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS and payer rules.
• Support accurate billing practices within the FQHC environment.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
