Job summary

Goins Sweitzer Engineers and Consultants, PLLC is seeking a seasoned CEI Technician to join our field team in Wilmington, NC. The role focuses on asphalt paving, patching, resurfacing, sidewalk and curb improvements, drainage work, and pavement markings, with on-site inspections and quantity development.

You will use a company-provided iPad to document daily activities, generate inspection reports, and coordinate with NCDOT staff and project stakeholders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 4 years construction-related experience OR an associate degree with 2 years experience.
• Prior NCDOT Construction Inspection Experience.
• Ability to set schedules and work independently.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills with accurate field records.
• Valid driver's license with favorable driving record.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather; weekends/nights if required.
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification.

Responsibilities

• On-site inspections and develop quantities for resurfacing projects.
• Maintain detailed daily records using an iPad.
• Generate inspection reports and documentation for resurfacing maps.
• Maintain project schedules to keep activities moving forward.
• Ensure safety compliance and address hazards.
• Communicate with project managers, NCDOT staff, and stakeholders.
