Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a Campus Planning Intern to support the design and construction of capital projects throughout Emerson College campus in Boston. This role involves updating space management databases, conducting space feasibility studies, and preparing presentation materials for senior leadership.

The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma, previous related internship experience, and be pursuing a degree in architecture or a related field. This position pays $25 per hour with at least 20 hours required weekly.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Previous internship or work experience in facilities, design, architecture or construction required.
  • Working towards a Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, facilities management, urban studies, building construction technology or closely related field strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Real Estate & Space Planning to update the college's space management and building model database.
  • Provide assistance with the analysis of the current space utilization and integrate into master plan.
  • Prepare presentation materials for senior leadership on current space issues.
  • Assist in designing schematic and feasibility plans to optimize space efficiency.

Skills

Advanced Revit skill level
Intermediate AutoCAD experience
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Analytical skills
Presentation preparation and delivery skills

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent experience
Working towards a Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or related field
