Job summary

Hoffman Construction is seeking a BIM Coordinator to join the on-site BIM Department in Sunnyvale, CA. You will support project teams, uphold BIM standards, and assist with training and technology needs under the BIM Manager.

The role emphasizes mentoring less experienced staff, optimizing Navisworks workflows, coordinating model families, and running clash detection to keep field operations aligned with the project schedule.

Qualifications

Four to seven (4‑7) years' experience in AEC industry.
Experience in industrial/advanced manufacturing projects.
High School diploma or GED required.
AS/BS in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or related preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve as the technical BIM advisor in the onsite field office.
Participate in BIM setup, standards development, and coordination.
Establish data exchange standards to optimize BIM for scheduling and take‑off.
Support collaboration across clients, design staff, builders, consultants, and subcontractors.
Coordinate and manage model families using Navisworks Manage.
Facilitate 3D model exchange and coordination with teams.
Use Newforma Konekt to support collaboration and issue tracking.
Run clash detection studies and generate reports.
Ensure construction geometry is accurate for field use.
Maintain model libraries and archive records.
Communicate clearly across channels.
Perform other duties as assigned.
