Job summary

Cox Automotive in Oklahoma City seeks a Battery Maintenance Technician I to perform battery assembly, disassembly, cleaning, reassembly and testing duties. Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED, and up to 2 years’ experience in a related field.
• Requires knowledge and experience with hand and power tools and basic computer skills to enter information into databases and check/respond to emails.
• Ability to read written operating instructions.
• Excellent skills in quality, accuracy and attention to detail; safety focus; ability to collaborate with teams.
• Commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Learns battery maintenance principles and practices.
• Assists with disassembling batteries and packs using hand tools.
• Uses test equipment to assess battery performance and detect issues.
• Replaces faulty components and fusing parts to restore functionality.
• Ensures proper mixing and containment of battery fluids.
• Packages battery components for shipping and keeps records up to date.
• Performs basic diagnostics to identify battery failures.
• Verifies battery functionality with electrical test equipment.
• Supports repair and refurbishment of vehicle batteries for reuse.
• Follows company quality management procedures.
• Adheres to safety protocols and wears PPE as required.
• Ensures battery work meets quality standards and supports reliability.
• Updates Alfred CMMS with maintenance and production data.
