Job summary

The Chemours Company in Belle, WV seeks an early-career Automation and Process Control Engineer to join the Manufacturing Technology team. This on-site role supports automation, instrumentation, and process control systems in continuous manufacturing with opportunities to grow in DCS, PLC, SIS, and cybersecurity as part of a high-hazard chemical environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Controls, Automation, or related) from ABET-accredited program or equivalent experience
• 0–5 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial automation, process control, or related roles
• Fundamental understanding of process control concepts, instrumentation, and industrial automation systems
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and work effectively in a team-based plant environment
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
• Willingness to work on-site and participate in on-call rotation

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of site automation and process control systems (DCS/PLC/SIS)
• Configure, test, and maintain control logic, graphics, and control schemes under guidance
• Assist with commissioning and startup of new instrumentation and control system modifications
• Develop and maintain DCS graphics for safe and efficient operator response
• Support MOC processes for automation and control system changes
• Troubleshoot process upsets and control system issues, including on-call rotation
• Assist with control system documentation, backups, patching, antivirus updates, and inventory management
• Support alarm management, control performance monitoring, and basic data analysis
• Participate in investigations related to control system events and corrective actions
• Collaborate with project teams on small capital or expense projects
• Learn and apply process safety concepts (PSM, PHA, safety system fundamentals)
