Job description

AV On‑Site Service Engineer (Philadelphia, PA)

Provide daily on‑site support for audiovisual, IT, and related systems. Serve as the service escalation point and give technical guidance to client personnel, project management, and subcontractors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide support for audiovisual, videoconferencing, and IT systems.
  • Diagnose, adjust, repair, and when necessary, Escalate audiovisual, videoconferencing, and IT related systems.
  • Configure and deploy equipment for various applications.
  • Provide end‑user support including concierge system assistance and meeting support.
  • Develop a professional environment, building technical credibility with the client while providing exemplary customer service.
  • Represent Cenero with senior‑level clients, showing empathy, patience, and competence.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to peers, client, and management clearly and concisely.
  • Maintain awareness of new technology through continuing education, training, seminars, and reading.
  • Coordinate all aspects of new designated projects at customer facilities, including communications and scheduling between client and Cenero Operations Manager.
  • Attend project meetings and represent Cenero.
  • Conduct site surveys for new business opportunities when appropriate.
  • Assist operational teams with installations and troubleshooting.
  • Serve as Cenero’s final “quality control” inspector to ensure all project work meets or exceeds the design specification.
  • Accurately maintain customer service ticket information in Cenero’s CRM.
  • Maintain accurate timesheet information.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering plus two + years of customer service experience or five + years of AV related service experience; or equivalent combination.
  • Detailed working knowledge of audiovisual systems (control systems, touch screens, switchers, projectors, Blu‑ray players, displays, microphones, speakers, amps).
  • Ability to terminate typical audiovisual related cabling (CAT, BNC, XLR).
  • Detailed working knowledge of video & audio conferencing systems (Polycom, Biamp, QSC preferred).
  • Working knowledge of AV control systems (Crestron & AMX preferred).
  • Understanding of video and acoustic technical principles and basic electrical wiring.
  • Knowledge of audiovisual test and repair equipment.
  • General knowledge of ISDN T1/E1, Ethernet, H.320, H.323, SIP protocols.
  • General knowledge of TCP/IP networking, switches, routers, firewalls.
  • Proficiency with Windows computers and office software.
  • AV installation experience desired.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • General Audio‑Visual: CTS‑X, General Certification (preferred)
  • Crestron DMC‑E‑4K
  • Audio DSP certifications (Biamp, Qsys, etc.)
  • Other applicable industry certifications and training as required.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to sit, use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard.
  • Often required to stand, walk, climb a 12 ft ladder, reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 50 lb.
Work Environment
  • Typical business environment: conference rooms, offices, server rooms, and NOC centers.
  • Occasional travel to other sites.
