Job summary

Flowserve Corporation is seeking a hands-on On-Site Applications Engineer to serve as the reliability resource for chemical and refining accounts in Louisiana. You’ll bridge field diagnostics with engineering solutions, performing teardowns, failure analyses, and plant-level upgrades to support uptime.

Ideal candidates include new grads seeking elite training or seasoned rotating equipment specialists pursuing an SME track with visibility across equipment lifecycle. Relocation support available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Foundational or deep understanding of rotating equipment dynamics, fluid systems, seals and pumps.
• In-plant or process-focused experience valued; eligible for industrial site access.
• Must meet heavy industrial access prerequisites including TWIC and driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, and inspect failed pump and seal systems at sites.
• Perform failure analyses and produce data-driven reports for equipment modifications.
• Act as on-site technical anchor between customer operations and Flowserve engineers.
• Drive plant-wide mechanical seal standardization and hardware variance resolution.
• Lead monthly reviews to track chronic equipment failures and drive preventative actions.
• Monitor and optimize client parts and tooling stores for efficiency.
