Job summary

Irvine Company Apartment Communities, a division of Irvine Company, is seeking a maintenance technician to perform general upkeep across apartment communities in Irvine, CA. You will handle plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and appliance repairs, participate in turnover projects, and ensure safety and quality in common areas, with on-call duties and weekend hours as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
• 1 year general maintenance experience; Expertise in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair and apartment turnover preferred

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains a high level of skill in all phases of general maintenance.
• Performs general maintenance including plumbing, painting, electrical, HVAC, hazardous material abatement, apartment turnover, and appliance repairs in accordance with company standards, and in conjunction with management staff.
• Promotes positive, proactive customer interactions to make Irvine Company experience of the highest quality.
• Performs service requests, unit turns and preventative maintenance work throughout the community.
• Ensures community common areas and grounds are maintained according to company standards; conducts inspections, identifies and resolves any hazards.
• Performs work using safe work practices; ensures completion of safety training and actively investigates and mitigates risks.
• Responsible for inventory of parts and appliances; responsible for general maintenance and orderliness of facilities.
• Completes property preventative maintenance and preventative maintenance on required systems and equipment.
• Performs porter functions as necessary.
• Variances in responsibilities may exist by community type: responsibilities will include completing both maintenance service requests and turnover of apartments; may work alone.
• May work on a team that completes maintenance service requests or turnover of apartments
