Edison Scientific seeks a Forward Deployed AI Engineer to embed with leading pharma/biotech R&D teams in the San Francisco area. You will own integrations, reliability, and the feedback loop between customers and Edison’s platform.

Your role blends science curiosity with deep software and AI system expertise to deliver high-impact value. You’ll work directly with scientists and engineering colleagues, travel 20–40% as needed, and drive features end-to-end from discovery to production, shaping

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience with production-grade software.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-powered or agentic AI systems.
• AI fluency to reason through systems architecture and write production code.
• Willingness to travel 20-40% and work independently with minimal oversight.
• Strong problem-solving and end-to-end ownership of features.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with scientists and engineers.
• Curiosity to learn new scientific domains quickly.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex scientific requirements into a clear delivery roadmap.
• Be embedded with R&D teams and drive value creation for partners.
• Map scientific landscape to identify high-leverage AI opportunities.
• Design, implement, and iterate production-ready integrations end-to-end.
• Troubleshoot and ensure reliability; be the go-to AI technical contact.
• Capture pain points and shape future platform capabilities.
• Partner with GTM to define success metrics and support pre-sales.
