Job summary

University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks adjunct faculty to teach on-site in Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA, for the Social & Behavioral Sciences & Gerontology program. Specifically, we are seeking faculty for Technology in Contemporary Society (BEHS 103): An interdisciplinary introduction to the role of technology in contemporary society.

We welcome instructors with a Master’s in a related field and experience teaching adult learners in higher education.

Qualifications

• Master’s in Social Science or related field from an accredited institution.
• Professional experience in behavioral sciences or related field.
• Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage students through frequent interaction that motivates them to succeed.
• Guide students in active collaboration and application of learning in problem- and project-based demonstrations.
• Provide rich and regular constructive feedback using rubrics for assessment.
• Demonstrate current subject-matter expertise and connect concepts across the program.
• Provide feedback to the program chair on curricular improvements.
