Job summary

University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks on-site adjunct faculty at Schriever Air Force Base, CO to teach Technology in Contemporary Society (BEHS 103) within the Social & Behavioral Sciences & Gerontology program. This role requires a Master’s degree and experience teaching adults in higher education.

Responsibilities include engaging students, guiding collaborative learning, and providing detailed feedback while aligning with program goals. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s in Social Science, or a related field, from an accredited institution is required.
• Professional experience in behavioral sciences or related field.
• Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred.
• Seeking instructors to teach specifically in Schriever Air Force Base, CO.
• Resume / Curriculum Vitae; Cover Letter highly preferred.
• If selected, translation/degree evaluation from a NACES approved vendor may be required.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage students through frequent interaction that motivates them to succeed and conveys enthusiasm for learning.
• Guide students in active collaboration and application of learning in problem- and project-based demonstrations.
• Provide rich and regular constructive feedback using rubrics for assessment of student work.
• Demonstrate relevant and current subject-matter expertise and help students connect concepts across their program.
• Provide feedback to the program chair on possible curricular improvements.
