Job summary

Willamette Pass National Ski Patrol is seeking an experienced ski patroller to patrol assigned areas on skis, provide immediate first aid, and coordinate with lift staff to ensure guest safety.

The role requires on-hill work in various weather conditions, a strong physical tolerance for lifting and pushing loads, and existing NSP certifications or the ability to obtain them by the specified date.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year(s) as an Alpine Ski Patroller
  • Must be accepted as a member of the Willamette Pass National Ski Patrol
  • Outdoor Emergency Care Technician or ability to obtain by 11/20/2023
  • Basic Life Support
  • Outdoor Emergency Transportation
  • Mountain Travel and Rescue (Preferred)
  • NSP Avalanche I (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Patrol assigned areas on skis, vigilant for injuries, hazards, and distressed skiers.
  • Provide immediate first aid and emergency care, including CPR or bandages as needed.
  • Conduct search and rescue operations for missing persons.
  • Set up signage, barriers, and flags to delineate safe zones and hazards.
  • Coordinate with ski lift team to ensure safe loading/unloading and report concerns.
  • Monitor weather and snow conditions; report to management for trail openings/closures.
