Job summary

Powderhorn Mountain Resort is seeking a dedicated Ski Patroller to advance guest safety across the mountain. You will provide first aid, transport injured guests, and support daily operations while upholding the Skier Responsibility Code.

Patrollers may start as Trainee or Patrol Level 1, 2, or 3, or Supervisor, based on qualifications and performance. This seasonal role offers full/part-time hours with a strong team environment.

Qualifications

• Proficient skiing or snowboarding across all terrain.
• Outdoor Emergency Care certification or equivalent (EMT/WFR).
• Strong teamwork and communication in high-pressure situations.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and variable hours.
• Patrol or emergency response experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and emergency medical care to guests and employees.
• Safely transport injured or ill guests using toboggans.
• Monitor skier/snowboarder safety and enforce resort policies.
• Inspect, open, and close trails with proper signage and safety systems.
• Respond to accidents, incidents, and emergencies on the mountain.
• Assist with lift evacuations, search and rescue, and other emergencies.
• Support avalanche hazard reduction and snow-safety duties as trained.
• Maintain patrol equipment and facilities in good condition.
• Deliver outstanding guest service with professionalism and teamwork.
