Job summary

Magellan Health seeks a Personal Financial Counselor, Assignment Ready Counselor, to deliver comprehensive financial counseling to service members and families at military installations in Louisiana. Responsibilities include budgeting, one-on-one sessions, and coordinating with DoD stakeholders. The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, 3+ years of experience, U.S.

citizenship, English fluency, and optional Spanish bilingualism. Certifications AFC/ CFP/ ChFC are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and fluent in English.
• If required by contract, bilingual in English and Spanish.
• One of AFC, CFP, or ChFC certifications is required.
• Must be able to obtain a favorable DoD Tier 2 investigation and pass OCI disclosures.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal financial counseling to service members and families at military installations.
• Assist in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
• Develop and provide financial education materials and workshops.
• Utilize virtual counseling or secure online communication modes as required.
• Coordinate with installation leadership to ensure program meets needs.
• Maintain DoD compliance and participate in supervision and quality initiatives.
