About On Demand

You can work as much or as little as you like as an On-Demand TM, with flexible scheduling based on store needs and shift availability. This role is ideal for those seeking a personalized work schedule.

As an On-Demand TM, you will not be scheduled in advance but can create your own schedule by picking up shifts via our myTime mobile scheduling app. Your active engagement in picking up and working shifts is essential. We will contact you periodically to confirm your availability. If you do not respond, your employment may be terminated. You are required to work at least one shift every 6 months (or 5 months starting December 2024) to maintain employment.

Attendance and responsiveness are critical. You will attend a Target Welcome orientation and complete a short-term training schedule. Afterward, you'll use the myTime app to select shifts.

Service & Engagement

Guest Advocates focus on creating positive guest experiences through interaction, problem-solving, and promoting store services and benefits. They are knowledgeable about store capabilities, digital solutions, and loyalty programs, delivering quick, accurate, and friendly service.

Typical Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent guest service by greeting and assisting guests.
• Understand guest needs and tailor interactions accordingly.
• Be knowledgeable about store products, services, and digital tools.
• Handle transactions, returns, and assist with order pickup and drive-up services.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Support safety, compliance, and cash handling procedures.
• Perform additional duties as needed based on store requirements.

Additional Expectations

• Handle cash accurately and support cash office operations.
• Lift merchandise up to 44 pounds and work in varying temperatures.
