Job summary

Naropa University seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to teach PAR 330 Verse Interpretation at the Arapahoe Campus. The 3‑credit undergraduate course runs January 11–May 4, 2027, meeting 9:00–10:30 AM on Mondays and Wednesdays.

The instructor should incorporate diversity and contemplative themes into the curriculum and foster an inclusive classroom environment. The position entails preparing and delivering lectures, grading, mentoring students, and coordinating with the Department Chair and HR

Qualifications

• Professional teaching experience in undergraduate classroom environments.
• Ability to lead training in embodied movement for performers.
• Familiarity with contemplative education and inclusive pedagogy.
• Understanding of privilege dynamics and equity implications.
• Open to feedback and ongoing self-examination.

Responsibilities

• Teaches 3 hours weekly for a 15‑week semester (Spring), 9:00–10:30 Tue/Wed.
• Prepares syllabus according to academic instructions and submits by deadline.
• Grading and feedback; submits final grades by Registrar deadline.
• Records grades and attendance in LMS in a timely manner.
• Provides one hour of office hours weekly and is available by appointment.
• Mentors students outside class via meetings, calls, or email.
• Obtains copyright permissions for materials used in course.
• Supports assessment processes as assigned.
• Completes required trainings within set timeframes by HR/Academic Affairs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
