Job summary

Arbor Acres United Methodist Retirement Community Inc is seeking a Security/Medical Responder to handle PET and emergency calls across campus, with patrol duties and liaison with Nursing. Must hold EMT-B or First Aid/CPR/AED certifications and maintain them while serving residents, staff, and visitors.

The role requires strong communication, reliable driving, and the ability to work across shifts. On-site responsibilities include safety checks, escorts, and basic maintenance tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate with residents, family members, staff and emergency personnel.
• Must be flexible with working hours and able to handle high stress.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; EMT-B preferred; certifications to be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Respond to IL emergency and PET calls and determine if 911 is necessary.
• Document each emergency in the Electronic Medical Record.
• Monitor fire alarms, cameras and all other emergency codes.
• Perform continuous patrols and building/grounds checks.
• Assist nursing as needed within scope of practice.
• Unlocks, escorts, direct traffic, and other support tasks.
• Monitor traffic flow and speed; perform light maintenance as needed.
• Lift up to 30 lbs and assist with basic physical tasks.
• Wanderguard door checks and Welcome Center coverage.
