Job summary

CATS Academy Boston is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to lead the clinical operations of the on-campus health center. This full-time, 12-month role reports to the Medical Director and collaborates with support staff to serve a residential student community.

The PA provides comprehensive primary care, manages medications, coordinates urgent and routine care, maintains EMR records, and ensures HIPAA/FERPA compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current NCCPA certification (PA-C).
• Active, unrestricted Physician Assistant license in Massachusetts.
• Current CPR/BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in primary care/pediatrics/adolescent medicine/urgent care.
• Strong working knowledge of EMR systems and clinical documentation.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, FERPA, and Massachusetts health privacy regulations.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care to students, including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Conduct intake assessments, physical examinations, and follow-up care.
• Administer and oversee medication administration and monitoring.
• Manage and triage student health concerns, including mental health presentations.
• Provide urgent and emergent care as the first clinical responder on campus.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests; coordinate referrals to off-campus specialists.
• Oversee day-to-day health center operations in a professional setting.
• Maintain EMRs compliant with HIPAA, FERPA, and MA privacy regulations.
• Develop and implement health center policies with the Medical Director.
• Collaborate with staff to manage student health records and immunization documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Massachusetts DPH regulations for school health services.
