Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
• Current, unrestricted Respiratory Care Practitioner license in the practicing state.
• NBRC-registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years clinical RT practice.
• Experience teaching or training in clinical/academic settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct on-site supervision of students during clinical rotations.
• Ensure safe patient care within scope of training.
• Monitor student interactions and intervene as needed.
• Maintain appropriate student-to-instructor ratios per accreditation standards.
• Create a safe learning environment for skill development.
• Deliver bedside clinical instruction and hands-on teaching.
• Guide students in applying didactic knowledge to patient care.
• Assess and document student competencies and progress.
• Coordinate equitable distribution of clinical experiences for all students.
• Track clinical hours and competency logs for graduation requirements.
• Conduct formative and summative evaluations of student performance.
• Provide timely feedback and maintain accurate records.
