Job summary

St. Edward's University invites applications for a part-time adjunct in the Department of Accounting, Economics, and Finance to teach courses in tax and intermediate/advanced accounting.

Appointments are made semester-by-semester and teaching is conducted in person, with opportunities to support a diverse student body. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching, strong interpersonal skills, and will complete required background checks as part of the faculty

Qualifications

• Licensed Texas CPA or Ph.D./Master's in accounting with 18 grad credits.
• Prior teaching experience in taxation and intermediate/advanced accounting.
• Availability to teach in person.
• Demonstrated potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Background check is required.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate accounting courses (tax and/or intermediate or advanced accounting).
• Deliver instruction primarily in person (face-to-face).
• Assess student learning and provide clear, timely feedback.
• Offer culturally responsive instruction and mentoring to a diverse student population.
• Utilize Canvas LMS; training and support are available.
• Maintain professional standards and comply with policies; hold one on-campus office hour per week per course.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
