Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents, living on campus and caring for a group of 8–13 students.

The role combines supervision, mentorship, and program coordination, with a nine-on/nine-off? wait schedule? initial nine consecutive days on duty and three days off; later placed houseparent with the same students. Candidates must be married for at least two years and both spouses must be 27 or older.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for married couples with at least two years of marriage.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to be certified to drive student home vans.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental and recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; later transition to a placed houseparent role with the same students.
