Job summary

Raritan Valley Community College's Evelyn S. Field Library is seeking a Part-Time Work-Study Student Library Page to support public services, shelving, and circulation tasks on campus in Branchburg, NJ.

The role covers the library desk during assigned hours, assists patrons with printers and computers, processes check-ins/outs, and maintains orderly shelves. Must be a current RVCC student with Federal Work Study eligibility and be able to work 12 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Commitment to public service is required.
• Experience with MS Office.
• Knowledge of library systems and classification helpful.

Responsibilities

• Covers the circulation desk during assigned hours and assists with opening/closing procedures.
• Checks materials in/out and conducts circulation desk tasks (fines, patron registration via automated system).
• Ensures patron areas are tidy and stocked with supplies.
• Provides excellent customer service; answers questions and refers to librarian on duty; assists with printers, scanners and computers.
• Sorts and shelves materials using Library of Congress Classification system.
• Follows college and library policies; performs other duties as assigned.
