Job summary

South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities is seeking a dedicated law enforcement professional to patrol the campus, respond to incidents, and investigate concerns to ensure the safety of students and staff.

The role requires a high school diploma, active law enforcement certification, and a valid SC driver's license. The position includes extensive collaboration with local law enforcement and potential court appearances.

Qualifications

• : A high school diploma, law enforcement experience and certification by the Law Enforcement Training Council in accordance with Section 23-23-40 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina 1976.
• : Must possess a current SC Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the campus parking lot, grounds, building, and outside perimeter to ensure safety of students and employees; develop and submit written safety reports.
• Respond to complaints, reports of violations, and requests for assistance; liaison with local law enforcement when necessary.
• Conduct preliminary investigations of complaints; issue warnings and citations or arrest violators.
• Respond to campus emergencies and direct traffic and personnel; liaison with law enforcement and emergency services.
• Testify in court and other legal proceedings, including hearings for juvenile cases.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
