Job summary

The South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities is seeking an experienced public safety professional to enforce laws, protect students and staff, and support campus security operations. This role requires certified enforcement capabilities and strong report-writing skills.

Under the Director of Public Safety, you will respond to incidents, conduct investigations, testify when required, and coordinate with local law enforcement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Certification by the Law Enforcement Training Council is preferred per state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the campus (parking lot, grounds, buildings, and perimeter) to protect students and staff and develop safety reports.
• Respond to complaints and requests for assistance; liaison with local law enforcement when needed.
• Conduct preliminary investigations and issue warnings, citations, or arrests based on findings; document incidents.
• Respond to campus emergencies, direct traffic or personnel, and coordinate with emergency services as necessary.
• Testify in court and administrative hearings; perform related duties as assigned.
