Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA seeks full-time Flex Houseparents. This two-person role involves living in on-campus student homes, supervising a group of 8–13 students, and providing guidance, supervision, and support to foster academic, emotional, and social growth.

The position begins with a nine-on, three-off schedule, with a path to a placed houseparent role living with the same students. A high school diploma or GED is required, and couples must be married at least two years and both

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship
• Managing household routines and student schedules
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational activities
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
• Flex Houseparents work nine days on, followed by three days off; later transition to placed Houseparent with same students
