Job summary

Milton Hershey School seeks married couples to fill Full-time Flex Houseparent roles on our on-campus student homes in Hershey, PA. Couples provide care, guidance, and supervision for a group of 8–13 students in a family-like setting.

Responsibilities include supervising daily activities, managing routines, administering medications, and supporting students’ academic, emotional, and social development. A strong commitment to youth welfare is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person couple role; married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one approved dog.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and monitor student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and engage in developmental/recreational planning.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Chapel services.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
