Job summary

St. Thomas University invites applications for Adjunct Instructors of Education to teach in-person undergraduate and graduate education courses on campus during the day and/or evening hours.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, effective communication, and a commitment to preparing future educators through engaging, student-centered instruction. Adjunct faculty are responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in face-to-face and occasionally hybrid/online

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education required for undergraduate instruction.
• Doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent) required for graduate instruction.
• Proven excellence in college/university teaching.
• Experience teaching face-to-face and/or online courses.
• Proficiency with Teams and Microsoft 365 apps.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned face-to-face, on-campus undergraduate and/or graduate education courses.
• Deliver engaging, student-centered instruction.
• Prepare course materials consistent with curriculum and standards.
• Utilize the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) to post course materials, assignments, grades, and timely feedback.
• Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and academic records in accordance with university policies.
• Respond to student communications in a timely, professional manner.
• Assess student learning using appropriate instructional and assessment strategies.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
• Maintain regular communication with the Program Director regarding course progress and student concerns.
• Participate in required adjunct orientation, training, and faculty development activities.
