Job summary

Bucknell University is seeking a motivated Custodian to join the Facilities team on campus. You will perform daily cleaning in classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas to keep the Bucknell environment welcoming for students, faculty, staff and guests.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm. This essential position may require work during campus closures. Previous custodial experience is preferred but not required, and a high school diploma is needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prior housekeeping or custodial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine cleaning in classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways and common areas.
• Collects and disposes of trash and waste per university policy and handles hazardous materials when encountered.
• Maintains flooring cleanliness and conducts periodic floor maintenance (buffing, waxing, carpet shampooing).
• Assists with minor maintenance tasks and campus moves; supports events setup and breakdown.
• Monitors and replenishes cleaning supplies; reports equipment malfunctions and safety concerns.
• Collaborates with custodial staff to coordinate schedules and address needs.
