Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA, seeks married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples live in on-campus student homes, supervising and guiding groups of 8–13 students, with a nine-day-on, three-day-off cycle and eventual placement in a single student home.

Responsibilities include supervision, scheduling, wellness, transportation, devotions, and budgeting. Eligibility requires two years of marriage, ages 27+, and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limits: only fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship for students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and ensure student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and plan development and recreation.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
• Initially support various student homes with a nine-on/three-off schedule.
• Advance to a Placed Houseparent role with a consistent student home.
