Job summary

West Georgia Technical College seeks an on-site Adjunct Instructor for Commercial Construction Management to teach & assess students in a professional classroom, lab and field setting. The role emphasizes aligning with state standards and industry practices while preparing syllabi and utilizing current technology.

The incumbent will manage grading, safety requirements, and coordination with program staff. Minimum qualifications include an associate degree and relevant industry experience;

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Commercial Construction Management and 3 years industry experience within past 7 years.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Credentialing to satisfy accrediting bodies for the course assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provides instruction in theory and practical applications of the discipline in accordance with academic state standards.
• Instructs courses in classroom/lab/field environments that closely simulate the industry environment.
• Prepares course syllabi using provided template.
• Utilizes current technology in the classroom/lab.
• Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
• Grades all coursework in a timely manner.
• Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the discipline area.
• Meets with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues.
• Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.
• Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the discipline.
