Job summary

Valley College seeks a part-time, on-site Lab Instructor to teach Medical Clinical Assistant skills and oversee lab activities. You will organize the curriculum, manage lab procedures, and track student progress while maintaining records.

The role emphasizes professional communication, confidentiality, and teamwork within a clinical classroom setting. Applicants should have an Associate degree or higher and at least three years in medical assisting; certification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher preferred.
• At least three years of experience as Medical Clinical Assistant or related field required.
• Medical Assisting certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Train students in labs (on campus).
• Develop lab activities, delivery methods, assignments, and lab procedures per curriculum.
• Instruct and guide students in the lab learning environment per curriculum.
• Demonstrate procedures and operate equipment per curriculum (e.g., blood pressures, vital signs, phlebotomy, EKG, minor surgeries).
• Grade and evaluate students' lab skills and provide timely feedback.
• Tutor students in lab procedures where needed.
• Keep accurate and up-to-date skills checklists for students' work.
• Compile reports/updates on students as required.
• Provide follow-up with students via telephone, email, or in person.
• Maintain a cooperative and professional learning environment.
