Job summary

Georgetown University, located in Washington, DC, seeks a skilled mechanic to perform journey level repair and preventive maintenance on a wide range of vehicles and engine-powered equipment. The role reports to the Garage Supervisor and supports Diesel buses, cars, trucks, and small engine gear to keep campus operations running safely.

Required are a HS diploma or equivalent, CDL, CFC certification, and 1–5 years in a repair facility.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Requires any combination of technical education and experiences equivalent to years of verifiable experience in problem diagnosis, repair and inspection of a variety of automotive vehicles and engine-powered equipment
• Must be able to follow manufacture’s repair manuals and use hand and specialty tools
• Must be proficient in Automotive and transit Air conditioning systems, air brakes, emissions devices and fuel injection systems
• Must be able to diagnose and understand electrical schematics use Volt meter and computer scan tools
• Must be CFC certified in AC and possess Class B CDL driver’s license
• ASE certification a plus
• 1-5 years or equivalent experience in a repair facility

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs Diesel Buses, Automobiles, trucks and other engine powered equipment.
• Ensures safe, comfortable and clean equipment for the University by providing reliable service.
