Job summary

Gonzaga University’s School of Education is seeking certified teachers to supervise Pre-Service Teacher Candidates at the K-12 level in the Greater Spokane Area for the academic year. Supervisors mentor candidates, coordinate with mentor teachers and the department, and visit school sites to observe and evaluate lessons using Gonzaga assessment software.

Responsibilities include attending campus meetings, completing required trainings, and maintaining regular communication with candidates,

Qualifications

• Certified teachers eligible to supervise pre-service candidates.
• At least 5 years K-12 teaching experience.
• Master's degree and teaching certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Attend in-person, on-campus supervisor meetings.
• Attend Zoom meetings, if needed.
• Attend Student Teaching Celebration, if supervising a student teacher.
• Complete University required trainings.
• Complete up to 9 in-person visits.
• Use technology for assignments.
• Meet all due dates.
• Submit mileage monthly on expense reporting software (e.g. Concur).
• Check Gonzaga email regularly and respond within 24 hours.
• Professional communication with candidates, mentor teachers, and Clinical office regularly and as needed.
• Follow agreed upon protocols for field experiences and student teaching.
• Confer with Director of Clinical Experiences for issues or concerns with placements, mentor teachers, and candidates’ instructional skills and/or dispositions.
