Job summary

Citrus County Board of County Commissioners is seeking an on-call casual labor driver to safely operate Transit vehicles and follow schedules. The role requires driving experience, use of a County-issued tablet, and the ability to assist passengers, including those with mobility needs.

This safety-sensitive position includes pre/post trip inspections, incident reporting, and adherence to DOT and county policies. Applicants must pass a background check and drug screening.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED equivalent.
• Three (3) or more years of experience driving passenger vehicles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate county vehicles safely and follow all traffic laws.
• Use a County-issued tablet to access routes and complete electronic documentation.
• Assist passengers and provide safe transfers for wheelchair users.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report issues promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and order of vehicles and report incidents.
