Job summary

SECURE is seeking a Casual Transfer Station Attendant for our Rose Prairie Transfer Station in BC. The role focuses on delivering friendly customer service to visitors dropping off garbage and recyclables, with availability for vacation coverage and weekend shifts as needed.

You will operate on-call to support sick days and additional coverage while upholding site standards and safety protocols. The successful candidate will work independently to ensure safe, efficient transfer station

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of general laborer experience.
• Experience completing daily paperwork.
• Understanding of regional OH&S requirements.
• Ability to operate mobile equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer-facing service at the transfer station during on-call coverage.
• Process tickets, reconcile daily cash, and manage emails.
• Open/close access gates per hours of operation and secure premises.
• Inspect perimeter fences for security issues or damage.
• Direct traffic safely according to the traffic management plan.
• Supervise waste placement into containers and the compactor system.
• Remove non-compliant materials from loads and areas.
• Maintain site buildings and yard, including winter maintenance.
