Job summary

West Platte County R-II School District seeks a Substitute Systems Administrator/Technician to install, configure and support technology district-wide. The role reports to the Director of Technology and provides frontline support to teachers and staff for hardware, software, and network services.

This on-site, as-needed position requires hands-on experience with Windows/Mac devices, VOIP, printers, projectors, and Google Apps for Education, plus server, AD, and backup management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Three or more years' experience installing, terminating, and testing CAT5e/6/6a and fiber optic and COAX cabling preferred.
• Strong understanding of LAN/WAN technology, Internet connectivity and TCP/IP.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware/software on Windows/Mac.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement technology infusion with administrators and teachers.
• Support district technology including VOIP, copiers, printers, projectors and SMART boards.
• Install, update and maintain district software applications and accounts.
• Set up staff/student accounts and Google Apps for Education.
• Manage servers and Active Directory / print server; support virtualization and backups.

Education

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Three or more years' experience installing, terminating, and testing cabling

Tools

Network+ / A+ Certification

Windows/Mac hardware troubleshooting
