Job summary

University of Kentucky is seeking a Surgical Tech for an on‑call role at the Center for Advanced Surgery in Lexington, KY. The position requires graduation from a surgical technology program or equivalent OR experience, with on-call shifts and a strong emphasis on sterile technique.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP/ABHES accredited surgical technology program or 1 year of related OR experience.
• Must pass pre-employment screenings as required by UK Human Resources.
• Ability to lift 50–100 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Pass surgical instruments in the operating room.
• Maintain a strict sterile field and assist with case counts.
• Set up and maintain a sterile field until the patient exits.
• Assist the circulating nurse and ensure supplies are ready for procedures.
