Job summary

Hope Learning Academy in Edwardsville, IL is seeking an On-Call Substitute Teacher to support the Education division. The role requires a valid Illinois teaching credential and successful background checks.

The Substitute Teacher will ensure IEPs are implemented and maintain a safe, age-appropriate classroom environment. Responsibilities include supervising paraprofessionals, documenting daily activities, completing reports, and adhering to licensing standards set by DHS and DCFS.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Teaching Certificate or Type 39 Certificate.
• Successful background clearance, physical, and drug/alcohol screening.
• Ability to meet all licensing standards of the Department of Human Services and the Department of Child and Family Services

Responsibilities

• IEP’s are implemented.
• Curriculum and lessons are age-appropriate.
• Supervises paraprofessionals and ensures program implementation.
• Paraprofessionals complete required daily documentation.
• Completes required reports accurately and promptly.
• Uses materials, devices, and equipment for activities.
• Maintains a positive, professional classroom environment.
• Mandated reporter for incidents of abuse/neglect.
• Attends required training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
