Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must hold a High School Diploma or GED (or higher).
• Must successfully complete a Georgia Gemalto Background Check.
• Must complete required Substitute Training prior to beginning assignments.
• Must review and acknowledge the Griffin Spalding Employee Handbook.
• Must be able to work on an on-call, as-needed basis with flexible scheduling.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs as needed in the classroom setting.
• Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Implement teacher-prepared lesson plans to ensure instructional continuity during the regular teacher's absence.
• Assign and explain classwork and homework to students in accordance with the teacher's instructions.
• Maintain classroom control and discipline, creating a safe and respectful learning environment.
• Complete a detailed daily report for the classroom teacher summarizing activities, student behavior, and any notable incidents.
• Take accurate attendance in accordance with school procedures and report any discrepancies to the appropriate staff.
• Set up and operate basic technology equipment to support classroom instruction.
• Follow all school rules, policies, and procedures at all times.
• Communicate professionally with school staff, administrators, and students to ensure a smooth and productive school day.
