Job summary

A community health organization is seeking an On Call Substance Use Disorder Counselor to provide treatment services in outpatient and residential settings. Responsibilities include client evaluation, counseling, and developing therapeutic plans. Candidates must possess a current CADC 1 certification, demonstrating competence in substance abuse treatment and be capable of working some evenings. This role supports the health and recovery of individuals in the Washington area.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge, skills, and abilities demonstrating competence in client evaluation.
• Knowledge of program policies and procedures for client case management.
• If working with youth, courses in child development strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide substance abuse treatment services in outpatient or residential settings.
• Responsible for client evaluation, including initial intake interview and diagnosis.
• Counsel individuals or families using evidence-based practices.

Skills

Knowledge of providing services to the Latinx community

Competence in treatment of substance related disorders

Client evaluation and counseling techniques

Education

Current CADC 1 or equivalent national certification
