Job summary

DCSAM is seeking On-Call Snow Supervisors to lead snow and ice removal operations. This seasonal role is active during winter weather events, supervising crews, planning responses, and sometimes operating equipment. Travel, hotel stays, and per diem are provided by DCSAM.

Expect to coordinate routes, ensure safety and efficiency, and perform basic reporting while supporting a dedicated team in a dynamic winter environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• CDL Class A or B preferred.
• Pass DOT drug screen and MVR review.
• Willing to travel to snow locations and stay for the duration of events.
• 2+ years of snow removal experience; leadership is a plus.
• Attend an 8-hour in-person snow training before the season starts.
• Work needed based on winter weather events determined by VDOT.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct snowplow crews during snow and ice events.
• Monitor weather conditions and help plan response efforts.
• Assign routes and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Operate snowplow trucks or other equipment when needed.
• Oversee salt/brine applications and equipment inspections.
• Maintain basic reports and ensure safety compliance.
