Winter Park Resort in Colorado is seeking a part-time seasonal worker for early-morning snow removal. You will use shovels, snowblowers, and roof rakes to clear walkways, entrances, stairs and roofs, while enduring sub-zero temperatures. The role requires teamwork, reliability, and the ability to work independently.

The hourly pay ranges from $19.50 to $21.50, with on-site duties and the potential for additional benefits and shifts during the winter season.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This part-time position requires manual labor as necessary for the purpose of snow removal during early mornings before quests arrive. Snow removal operations utilize shovels, snowblowers and roof rakes to clear pedestrian walkways, entrances and exits of buildings, stairways, decks and roofs. Must be in excellent physical condition able to with stand sub-zero temperatures and lift heavy weights. Applicant should be outgoing, a team player, hardworking and demonstrate the ability to work independently.

WAGE:

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of Winter Park Resorts hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Winter Park Resorts total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits. Hourly pay range: $19.50- $21.50 per hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Snow removal by hand or snow blower around decks, stairs, roofs and walkways.
• Spread ice melt and sand on icy areas
• Dig out signs, ski racks, trash cans, benches and other objects
• Report safety hazards to appropriate individuals
• Report on time when called in for work
• Be able to fulfill commitment for entire winter season
• Ability to get to Resort by 2am for shift (requires personal transportation)
• Must be available a minimum of 3 on call shifts per week
• Responds to emergency situations including fire, building evacuation, vehicle and pedestrian accidents, flooding, lift failure, and accident evacuation. Assists Security, municipal police and fire departments, and other protective service agencies as necessary.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date logs of all contract work performed.
• Assists other work groups as necessary and performs other duties as directed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSING:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a reliable personal transportation for early morning calls.
• Operate snow blower.
• Be in good physical condition.
• Able to perform moderate to heavy lifting.
• Withstand sub-zero temperatures.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Be able to lift 30-50lbs repetitively.
• Be in good physical condition
• Have an operational phone, if cell phone, have adequate service to receive calls
• Keep phone within hearing distance and be capable of waking to a call in early morning
• Adequate vision to see in darkness
• Adequate hearing for communication purposes

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• This position may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work in sub-zero temperatures and adverse conditions
• Ability to work in low-light situations
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work at significant heights

Indoor/Outdoor:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to harsh and varying outside weather conditions.

Hazardous Materials/Noise:

The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate.
