Job summary

Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group in Las Vegas is seeking an Automation Technician to support show readiness and safety by maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment above the stage. You will develop knowledge of automation systems, manage spare parts inventory, and assist with cross-departmental projects as needed.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year experience with motion control, strong metal fabrication, and familiarity with AutoCAD/SolidWorks; excellent English and OSHA 10 are expected;

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience operating and maintaining motion control systems or theater productions.
• Strong metal fabrication skills: cutting, grinding, fitting, aligning and welding.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks is an asset.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints and schematics.
• Experience with industrial machines, motors, gearboxes and related tools.
• Ability to pass a swim test.
• Knowledge of AC/DC theory and electrical safety.
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Operate the automation control console and cue tracks safely for performances and maintenance.
• Maintain cue track documentation and rotate cues as directed.
• Inspect and maintain motion control systems and related equipment.
• Update maintenance records in Word/Excel and show-specific software.
• Develop knowledge of automation equipment used in production for safe operation.
• Collaborate with other departments for cross‑departmental support.
• Participate in special projects and installations as needed.
