Job summary

KIPP NC is seeking a dependable Custodian in Durham, NC to maintain clean and safe school facilities across our campuses. Responsibilities include sanitizing restrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, dusting surfaces, and assisting with setups for conferences and meetings.

This on-call/seasonal role requires a high school diploma or GED, the ability to work well with others, and basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Experience in custodial work is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes restroom facilities and fixtures.
• Sweeps, vacuums, mops, and polishes floors; maintains cleanliness of carpets.
• Dusts and polishes furniture and fixtures; cleans desks and countertops.
• Follows safety instructions for cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Washes windows, mirrors, and walls.
• Empties and sanitizes waste receptacles; keeps areas tidy.
• Moves and arranges furniture and equipment for conferences or meetings.
• Unloads supplies and equipment from vehicles; assists maintenance staff as needed.
• Replaces lights and adjusts shades and blinds; cleans air vents as required.
• Identifies and reports building maintenance needs.
